If you are looking for a short haul exciting destination steeped in culture and history but yet with a great modern twist – Budapest will be the place you want to go!

In the summer we were invited by the newly opened Ritz Carlton in collaboration with Aim DMC and All About Flights to visit this stunning city on the River Danube.

The luxury 5 star property (which used to be a former Le Meridien) is located in the heart of the city and there are 200 very elegant bedrooms, a main ballroom to accommodate up to 120 persons in a cabaret layout and a beautiful spa. Staff and service were amazing and they made us feel very welcome. There are also a lot of other nearby hotels within walking distance should this be a requirement for larger groups.

Our ground agent AIM International had a few surprises in store for us. They included an after dinner flight on the Budapest Eye to show us the city and its beautiful views at night time, a city tour in a trabbi, some great site visits to wonderful off site dinner venues, a speed boat tour and a visit to the local market hall where we learnt to make traditional Hungarian pancakes.
