Only a few weeks after its official opening, I was lucky enough to spend a weekend at the brand new Conrad Algarve.  Situated just 20 minutes’ drive from Faro airport, the Conrad offers guests true 5 star luxury in the exclusive resort of Quinta de Lago.

On entering the hotel, I was immediately struck by the brightness of the lobby area, thanks to the windows which stretch from the ground floor up to the fourth, and let in an abundance of daylight.

The Conrad Algarve has 154 bedrooms, all of which are extremely spacious (a standard king deluxe room measuring

38 square metres) and offer contemporary, luxurious furnishings. This is complimented with the many other additional features within the rooms,such as a 37-inch HD flat screen TV, Nespresso coffee machine, MP3 sound system and even a bathtub with built in TV.

e to offer such as a luxurious spa offering aromatic steam and sauna experiences, a hydrotherapy pool with individual massage stations, a cold plunge pool and an ‘outdoor spa’ option for those guests who wish to receive their treatments in the fresh Portuguese air – with private spa decks attached to each treatment room. such as a 37-inch HD flat screen TV, Nespresso coffee machine, MP3 sound system and even a bathtub with built in TV.

With regards to meetings, the hotel has a variety of spaces available to suit all group sizes, with five flexible conference rooms, one boardroom and a grand ballroom which can accommodate up to 300 delegates.  Each of these spaces offers natural daylight and private access the hotel gardens.

This hotel is also a fantastic option for groups wishing to host outdoor events. The hotel gardens, terraces and pool area can accommodate up to 300 guests.  As well as the stunning infinity pool, there is also a smaller pool area at the rear of the grounds, which is a perfect space for groups to hold exclusive drinks receptions. There are also two restaurants within the hotel; ‘Louro’ offers high quality Portuguese cuisine and ‘Gusto by

Heinz Beck’ is a Mediterranean restaurant, with Scandinavian inspired design. Both these restaurants offer fantastic opportunities for groups with a private dining space as well as the possibility of exclusive hire.

The Conrad Algarve is located close to the Ria Formosa nature reserve, which opens up many possibilities for incentive groups. I experienced a private boat tour along the beautiful Ria Formosa, with stunning views accompanied by the warm Portuguese sunshine. Despite it being October, the temperature was still warm and the bright blue sky had barely a cloud in sight! After this wonderful trip, I enjoyed a traditional Portuguese lunch on a deserted island, at a quaint restaurant which can be hired out exclusively by groups all year round.
