Intercontinental Aphrodite Hills Resort Hotel Cyprus
29 May 2012
After leaving behind a damp and grey London I arrive at the picturesque island of Cyprus just over four hours later. Less than 30 minutes from Paphos airport lays the Aphrodite Hills Resort, offering the ultimate in five-star facilities and service. The hotel offers 290 rooms, all of which are elegantly furnished with a subtle fusion of contemporary designs and traditional Cypriot décor.
Aphrodite Hills Resort offers a variety of conference spaces to suit all needs. There are nine function rooms which can accommodate between 10-900 people, as well as a light and spacious foyer ideal for receptions and exhibitions.
Aphrodite Hills is ideal not just for meetings and conferences, but also offers endless possibilities for incentives. The resort is home to an 18-hole championship golf course, a retreat spa, a tennis academy and a riding club. You can even hire segways to ride around the resort the environmentally friendly way! With over 16 restaurants and bars on-site (many of which can be privatised for your event) there are also many wonderful options for dinners and drinks receptions. One perfect example is the Carob Terrace which offers panoramic views over the resort and beyond. I spent my second evening there with an ice-cold drink in hand, looking out at the crystal-blue sea to my right and the bright-red sunset to my left – what better way to end a day?!
During my stay in Cyprus I also visited Limassol – the second largest city on the island. The streets here are lined with shops, restaurants and cafés and although by day it oozes calm and tranquillity, I was told that by night it transforms into a bustling hub of activity. Limassol offers a fantastic venue for conferences / dinners in the recently renovated Old Carob Mill. The space is made of two ballrooms which can open up as one large area to seat up to 400 for a gala dinner.
My final excursion in Cyprus led me to Omodos; a tiny village nestled high up in the hilltops. For those looking to add a real ‘wow’ factor to their event, the main street here can be used to host gala dinners, with tables lining the historic, cobbled street. There are also many possibilities for incentives here, such as pottery making, wine tasting, mosaic making and other team building activities.
My stay at Aphrodite Hills resort allowed me to explore the many possibilities available for meetings and incentives, both in and out of the resort. Cyprus offers some fantastic rates for delegates and with flights to Paphos from over ten different U.K airports, as well as good international links, it really is a great choice for your next event!
